Dr. Courtney Johnson Rose, a distinguished businesswoman, real estate investor, educator, and community leader, has been installed as the 33rd President of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB). This momentous occasion will took place during NAREB’s 75th Annual Conference, marking a significant milestone for both Dr. Johnson Rose and the esteemed organization.

With an impressive background in the real estate industry, Dr. Johnson Rose currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of George E. Johnson Development, Inc., a renowned full-service real estate firm specializing in development services, owner representation, master planning, and residential and commercial brokerage services. She has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and success, securing contracts with major institutions and entities such as Houston Community College System, the Harris Center of Mental Health, Houston Independent School District, the City of Houston, FDIC, as well as numerous banks, small businesses, and families.

As the president-elect of NAREB, the oldest minority trade association in the country boasting over 115 chapters, Dr. Johnson Rose will lead the organization to new heights. She brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to advancing the interests of minority real estate professionals. Dr. Johnson Rose also serves as the immediate past chair of the Texas Association of African American Chambers, a statewide network of over 25 Black chambers of commerce. Additionally, she has been appointed as a director of the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) by Governor Greg Abbott.

Dr. Johnson Rose’s dedication to the real estate industry and her community is evident through her involvement in various influential organizations. She currently serves as a board member and past real estate committee chair of the Greater Houston Partnership, a leading business organization, and has played a crucial role in shaping the city’s business landscape. Furthermore, she was appointed as the chairperson of the mayor’s transition team committee on small business opportunity and the city of Houston Taskforce on Minority and Women-Owned Businesses under Mayor Sylvester Turner.

With an exceptional educational background, Dr. Johnson Rose holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, a master’s degree in community development, and a doctorate in organizational leadership. She is also a certified project management professional (PMP) and a certified commercial investment member (CCIM), showcasing her commitment to professional excellence and ongoing development.

Dr. Johnson Rose’s outstanding achievements and contributions have garnered recognition from esteemed organizations and media outlets. Women’s Magazine of Houston honored her as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women, while the Houston Business Journal featured her in their prestigious 40 Under 40 list. She has been in Black Enterprise magazine and has graced the covers of Empower, Real Estate Executive, Houston Realtor, and National Realtor publications. In 2013, she showcased her expertise as the creator and host of the informative real estate show, Real Estate Today, which aired on Comcast.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Johnson Rose finds fulfillment in her personal life. She is married and a proud mother of two children. In her leisure time, she enjoys quality moments with her family, exploring new destinations through travel, and actively engaging in community service activities as a member of the esteemed sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
